HOW LONG DOES A MOVE TAKE??
This is a loaded question! Everyone has a different amount of stuff to move. Everyone has a different level of self-participation.
If we walk in and there are still dishes in the dishwasher to be packed, it's going to be a long day!
If we walk in and you have everything disassembled and ready to go, it is going to go fast!!
Everyone has a different ability to prepare their move. Everyone has a different amount of time they are able to devote to the move preparation.
I believe that everyone has the intention to be ready for move day, but life gets in the way. We have had customers break their leg on move day and end up in the hospital getting surgery performed yet the move had to be completed that day due to giving up possession at closing. So we carried on without her, hoping that her spouse knew where everything went (he didn't) and offered to come back when she was well to adjust furniture that was not in the place she wanted.
Life happens. We know that, so staying in constant contact with your mover will help the mover be prepared for what you need to have done.
If you get more packed than originally planned, GREAT! Give me a call and let me know I don't need to pack or the pack won't need as many people or supplies as originally planned.
If you didn't get the packing done, no problem, call as soon as you realize that you won't be able to finish so we can plan how we can get this done for you.
I believe in many instances where expectations don't meet performance is due to a lack of communication as to what is needed on move day.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SCREWS FROM MY FURNITURE? Many times beds and other furniture items are assembled with screws or other hardware. We recommend that you have some sealable baggies available to put them in and label them per item (kind bed, queen bed, Mary's bed, Tommy's dresser mirror screws) and so forth.

DO YOU MOVE SAFES? I get this question a lot. And yes, we do. But we need to know a lot more about the safe than, "it's heavy"!! Make/brand Model Height Weight Depth Stairs at load address? Stairs at unload address? Going over grass at either address? Will it be empty? Does the door come off? Basically I need to know everything about it so that I can plan and have proper resources.
