STORAGE OPTIONS

This is a subtitle for your new post

Right now it looks like the trend is people to sell their house at a high return, put their goods in storage and get an apartment or live with family.
Therefore storage is important.
Some points to ponder when considering storage.
1. What type of storage do you need?
Climate controlled or non-climate controlled. This is personal preference. But it is definitely important for oil paintings during summer months. Temperatures are usually kept between 55and 80 degrees. It can also keep wood from warping. It can keep mold and mildew at bay and protect electronic devices.
2. What size unit do you need?
This depends on how much furniture and boxes you have. If you call me I can give you an idea of the correct size if you give me a detailed inventory.
3. What is the access?
Not only WHEN can you access it, but HOW? As we get more storage units in our area, there are more facilities that have elevators. This will take you or your movers a lot longer to load the storage unit.
4. Protection of the furniture
Do you want to keep pads on your furniture while it's in storage? If it's your storage, then you will need to provide them or purchase ours. Or we can take the pads off your furniture, but I don't recommend it.
5. Coverage
If your unit is broken into, what happens? Are you covered? If the condensation in a climate controlled unit leaks into your mattress bag (true story) and ruins your mattress, are you covered? These are things you need to ask your storage facility.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SCREWS FROM MY FURNITURE? Many times beds and other furniture items are assembled with screws or other hardware. We recommend that you have some sealable baggies available to put them in and label them per item (kind bed, queen bed, Mary's bed, Tommy's dresser mirror screws) and so forth.

DO YOU MOVE SAFES? I get this question a lot. And yes, we do. But we need to know a lot more about the safe than, "it's heavy"!! Make/brand Model Height Weight Depth Stairs at load address? Stairs at unload address? Going over grass at either address? Will it be empty? Does the door come off? Basically I need to know everything about it so that I can plan and have proper resources.
