What about the heat?

This is a subtitle for your new post

People sometimes forget about the heat. When it's hot and humid in Kentucky, it can be REALLY hard to work outdoors. We have ALERT days that the weatherperson advises us to stay inside. So while we have never canceled a move due to heat, there are things we do or ask that our customers do to help.
1. Be kind. It costs nothing to be kind. Be understanding that this is REALLY hard work in REALLY unfriendly circumstances.
2. Having water or sports drinks on hand is REALLY considerate. It lets the movers know you care and they can reciprocate likewise. Everyone likes to feel appreciated.
3. If you have a large move or we have to navigate a lot of stairs or long distances, we may require an extra person on the crew for which you will be charged. Working the movers to death helps no one.
4. Don't be unreasonable. We have had customers make the movers stop and wipe their hands before touching each piece of furniture then complain about the time. If this is you, pick a day that is less hot. I can control many things but the weather is still not one of them.
5. Again, be kind. A difficult customer is hard to work for when it 90-100 degrees. We want to do a good job but the movers are only human.
Thanks!!

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SCREWS FROM MY FURNITURE? Many times beds and other furniture items are assembled with screws or other hardware. We recommend that you have some sealable baggies available to put them in and label them per item (kind bed, queen bed, Mary's bed, Tommy's dresser mirror screws) and so forth.

DO YOU MOVE SAFES? I get this question a lot. And yes, we do. But we need to know a lot more about the safe than, "it's heavy"!! Make/brand Model Height Weight Depth Stairs at load address? Stairs at unload address? Going over grass at either address? Will it be empty? Does the door come off? Basically I need to know everything about it so that I can plan and have proper resources.
